The Question I Hear All the Time

It’s a question that comes up fairly often, usually while people are stretching after class or putting equipment away.

“Do you think I’m ready for HYROX?”

It’s a fair thing to wonder about. Most people want to feel confident about their fitness before stepping into a race or structured test.

But in reality, the only reliable way to answer that question is to test it.

From 26 February to 26 March, every Willow Way Fitness location will run the official HYROX PFT test as part of a five-week tour across all gyms.

Across those five weeks, all 10 locations will host the same HYROX fitness test. Two gyms take their turn each week, and every result feeds into two running leaderboards:

  • your gym leaderboard
  • the overall Willow Way Fitness leaderboard

By the end of the tour, we’ll have a clear picture of how each location performed across the same HYROX training benchmark.

The HYROX PFT Test as a Training Benchmark

The HYROX PFT test isn’t simply another tough workout.

It’s a recognised HYROX training benchmark used around the world to measure the type of fitness the sport demands. The format brings together several elements that many people already train regularly, but rarely measure in one effort.

The test gives insight into things like:

  • aerobic capacity
  • strength under fatigue
  • repeat effort
  • pacing control

Most workouts leave you with a general sense of how things went. The HYROX fitness test gives you something more concrete: a clear score that shows how those qualities come together when the effort is structured.

For many people, that kind of feedback becomes a useful reference point for future training.

Still Waiting Until You Feel Ready?

It’s common for people to hold back from testing their fitness until they feel completely prepared.

That instinct makes sense, but testing doesn’t have to be about proving something. More often it simply provides perspective.

A good way to think about it is like checking your pace during a long run. You’re not judging the entire race based on that moment, but the information helps you understand how things are going.

The HYROX PFT test works in a similar way. It gives you an honest snapshot of your current fitness and highlights the areas where you are already strong, along with the areas that might need more attention.

That kind of clarity can be surprisingly motivating.

What HYROX-Ready Actually Looks Like

Being HYROX-ready doesn’t necessarily mean being the fastest or strongest person in the gym.

More often it means your fitness is balanced across several areas. A well-prepared HYROX athlete usually shows:

  • a reliable aerobic engine
  • strength that holds up under fatigue
  • steady pacing over longer efforts

The HYROX fitness test tends to make that balance visible. Once people can see how those pieces fit together, they often find it easier to train with purpose.

When the Test Hits Your Gym

If you’re already training at Willow Way Fitness, you’ll get your shot at the HYROX PFT test when it reaches your gym.
