What We’re Working On Over the Next 6 Weeks

My favourite food is steak. Specifically, a good ribeye.

But if I had a ribeye every single day for the rest of my life, it probably wouldn’t be my favourite anymore.

Training is exactly the same.

There are probably movements or workouts that you like to see, and a few that you hope you don’t see.

The goal is that around half the time, the workouts we do should be fun, and the other half, you should be questioning why you signed up.

If you can show up for both of those, then you can be pretty sure you’re going to see very good results.

Over the next six weeks we’re building towards Game Day, so you’ll definitely notice a bit more of that in our Hybrid classes. If you’re doing Game Day, you’ll start recognising some of the movements and workout styles we’ll be using.

If you’re not, don’t worry. The goal hasn’t changed. We still want to help you get stronger, fitter and healthier. Game Day just gives us something exciting to build towards over the next six weeks at Willow Way.

Here’s What You Can Expect

Monday: Strength

Monday is all about building strength.

Don’t expect to spend the whole class out of breath. Expect heavier lifts, plenty of muscle fatigue, and every Monday our main lift will be the back squat.

Tuesday: Conditioning

Tuesday is our longer conditioning day.

You’ll see plenty of HYROX movements, making it a great class if you’re doing a race or thinking about signing up. If not, it’s still one of the best conditioning sessions of the week.

Wednesday: Strength

Every Wednesday we’ll start with deadlifts before moving into a SPEED workout.

Thursday: Conditioning

Thursday is another longer conditioning day.

Expect plenty of variety and workouts that keep improving your overall fitness.

Friday: Strength

Just like Monday, Friday is all about building strength.

Expect heavy lifts, slower movements and plenty of muscle fatigue, and every Friday our main lift will be the bench press.

Saturday: Hybrid & HYROX

Our Saturday Hybrid class becomes team-based as we build towards Game Day.

Straight after that is our HYROX class. These sessions are longer than our normal classes, with more running, more station practice and around 60 minutes of work.

We’ll See You in Class

The next six weeks are going to be a lot of fun. Half the time.

The other half… probably not.

We’ll see you in class.
