Your Festive Season Guide: Stay in Shape, Without Compromising the Fun

Your Festive Season Guide: Stay in Shape, Without Compromising the Fun.

As the New Year approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on your 2024 goals.
Maybe you crushed them, or maybe life had other plans – either way, a fresh
start is just around the corner. But why wait until January to get back on
track?

December often becomes the month of indulgence and inactivity, but that
doesn’t mean you have to hit pause completely. Enjoy your holiday – sip the
wine, feast on the festive treats, and savour your downtime. But with a few
simple steps, you can stay in shape, keep moving, and still have all the fun.

Here’s your ultimate festive guide to staying active, eating well, and embracing
the outdoors!

1. The Holiday Workout Challenge

Staying fit doesn’t have to be time-consuming, and we’ve created a challenge
that proves it. It takes just a few minutes a day but will give you a massive
head start on your 2025 fitness goals.

Here’s how it works:

  • 30 Air Squats
  • 25 Push-ups
  • 20 Hollow Rocks
  • 60-Second Elbow Plank

Each day, increase the squats, push-ups, and hollow rocks by 5 reps. For the
plank, add 5 seconds. Break it into sets if needed but aim to complete it daily.

This workout takes as little as 5–20 minutes (only 0.35%–1.39% of your day!).
Stick with it, and you’ll feel stronger, energised, and ready to crush your New
Year training sessions.

2. Simple Nutrition Hacks for the Festive Season

The holidays are all about balance – enjoying the indulgence without feeling
like you’ve completely let go. These three tips will help you navigate festive
meals while still feeling great:

Stay Hydrated:
The holidays often mean more alcohol, which is fine, but hydration is key. Aim
for at least 2 litres of water daily to keep your body in top form.

Prioritise Protein:
Include a good source of protein with every meal to help you feel fuller and
keep cravings in check. It’s a simple hack to avoid going overboard on calorie-
dense foods.

Enjoy, But Don’t Overdo It:
Indulgent days are part of the fun – embrace them! The trick is to avoid turning
one day into a string of overindulgent ones. Bounce back by making healthier
choices the next day and keep moving.

Small changes can go a long way, leaving you free to enjoy the festivities guilt-
free.

3. Get Outside and Be Active

Holidays are for relaxing, but that doesn’t mean sitting still all day. Getting
outdoors isn’t just great for your physical health – it’s a mental reset too. Here
are some fun ways to stay active and creative with your movement:

  • Take a daily walk or go for a jog.
  • Hike or trail run – fresh air and stunning views make everything better.
  • Do the daily workout challenge somewhere scenic.
  • Love cycling? Hit the road or trails and snap a photo – we’d love to see it!
  • Plan outdoor games with family or friends – football, frisbee, or even touch
  • rugby.
  • Try water-based activities like swimming or kayaking – it all counts!
  • Tidy up the garden – surprisingly good exercise!

Whatever you do, the goal is simple: keep moving. Your hard work throughout the year has built a fitter, stronger you, and this is your time to enjoy it fully.

Wrap Up

This festive season, balance is key. With just a few intentional choices, you
can stay active, enjoy all the fun, and enter the New Year feeling better than
ever. Whether it’s through our quick workout challenge, simple nutrition tips,

Here’s to a strong and happy holiday season – see you in 2025!
